Why Should I Join CCAI?
CCAI consists of approximately 1200 of the best fire investigation professionals in the State of California, united by a strong commitment to the suppression of the crime of arson. Each member receives a Membership Directory that lists all other Association members. Successful use of this investigative tool just once can justify 10 years of CCAI dues. CCAI conducts two semi-annual Training Seminars each year and our members receive training by attending our Roundtables throughout the State. The latest information and technology in the profession is provided to our members. As a member you can attend at a very much reduced rate.
Roundtable meetings are held at fourteen different locations, four times each year (total of 56 meeting throughout the state each year). As a member you can attend any or all of the meetings. It is the perfect place to find out what is going on around you and to network with other investigators and insurance people that share your common goal.
Our publication, "The CaliforniaFire/Arson Investigator Magazine," contains articles by some of the leading experts in the profession, and is mailed to each member quarterly.
The CCAI business office is compiling an on-going library of reference materials that members can access. And speaking of access, the CCAI office can be reached by mail, phone, fax or internet. April is in the office every day to help you as a member.
CCAI also administers a Certified Fire Investigator program that is available to all those who possess the required knowledge and experience to qualify. You must be a CCAI member to be eligible to apply of the CFI Program.
CCAI works in cooperation with other associations and law enforcement agencies to prevent and suppress the crime of arson, including the California Fire Chiefs Organization, California Police Chief's Organization, the National Fire Academy, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the International Association of Police Chiefs, California District Attorneys Association, California Peace Officers Association, California State Fireman's Association, California Fire Prevention Association, the International Association Of Arson Investigators, Peace Officers Standards and Training, the Insurance Committee for Arson Control and many others.
What You Have To Offer CCAI
United we succeed and divided we fail. Your dues are important to keep CCAI functioning, however, in addition to your dues, you have something else to contribute (namely your time in the form of active participation on one of our many committees, and your ideas on how we can improve services to our members). Together we can fight the crime of arson and successfully prosecute the arsonist, making sure our communities are a safer place for everyone to live). CCAI needs you and you need CCAI.
If you can think of any ways in which CCAI can improve operations and serve you better as a member, please contact one of the Officers or Directors. Their email addresses are available here on the Web Page.
