Arson Information
Each year more than 500,000 fires of all types are caused by arson, about one fourth of all fires. Every 10 seconds $600.00 of property is destroyed by arson, that is more than 2 billion per year. More than 700 lives are lost annually due to arson. Of those arrested for the crime of arson, more than half are under the age of 18. Arson is the leading cause of death for pre schoolers, accounting for 88 of every 100 deaths.
Statewide Round Table Meetings
You can find a listing of the round table meetings in your area printed in the monthly Fire-Arson Newsletter, or on this web site. Members may attend any round table, but usually attend and support the one in their area. Each round table is conducted by a round table coordinator who disseminates information statewide from the Board meetings.
Networking
If you are in the fire service and you need to know who the insurance adjuster is on your fire, CCAI can provide a forum for networking. If you are in the insurance industry or a private investigator, knowing the city or county fire investigator can make the difference in a successful investigation. Any agency or organization will benefit from the information available from other public and private sources who are also members of CCAI.
Opportunities
Since CCAI is made
up of a volunteer membership, there are many opportunities to become involved
in the variety of committees, the local round tables, the newsletter and
semi annual conference. The group is always growing and welcomes
the participation of its membership.
